Frequently asked questions
How do I create accounts for my team?
Only admins can create accounts. Go to the Admin tab (visible to admins only), tap the person+ icon in the top right, fill in the name, email, password, and choose a role — Admin or User.
What's the difference between Admin and User roles?
- Admin — full access. Can add, edit, and delete piles, clients, and user accounts.
- User — can view all piles, log movements, and record moisture tests, but cannot add or edit piles or manage users.
How do I get directions to a pile?
Open the pile's detail view and tap "Get directions in Google Maps" in the Location section. If Google Maps is installed it will open directly, otherwise it falls back to Google Maps in your browser.
How do I fly to a pile on the main map?
Open the pile's detail view, find the mini-map in the Location section, and tap the "Show on map" button in the top-right corner of the map. The app will switch to the Map tab and zoom straight to the pile.
What do the moisture colours mean?
Moisture readings are colour-coded as a quick safety guide:
- 🟢 Green — below 14% — safe to store
- 🟡 Amber — 14–18% — monitor closely
- 🔴 Red — above 18% — risk of heating or spoilage
Will changes sync across devices in real time?
Yes. Straw Tracker uses Firebase Firestore, so any pile, movement, or client change made by one team member appears on all other devices within seconds.
Can I edit or delete a movement I logged by mistake?
Yes. Open the pile, scroll to Movement History, and swipe left on any movement to delete it. Movement editing is coming in a future update.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Contact your farm's admin — they can reset your account. If you are the admin, use the email link below and we'll help you regain access.
Is my data backed up?
All data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore with automatic replication and daily backups managed by Google Cloud. Your data is not stored only on your device.
